#tide

Ocean material

ECO SERIES WATCHES

Our #tide ocean material is made from 100% ocean plastic and was developed in collaboration with Swiss scientists. On five islands in the Andaman Sea off the coast of Thailand, local fishermen are being trained and paid to collect and sort plastic waste.

Our mission: Clean oceans and a more sustainable future

With our #tide series we contribute to a more sustainable future. Show your commitment to our environment and proudly wear your #tide watch on your wrist.

#tide ocean materials consists of 100% ocean plastic and was developed in collaboration with Swiss scientists. Off the coast of Thailand, local fishermen are being trained and paid to collect and sort plastic waste.

The #tide material initially consists of collected plastic waste, which is then broken down into its basic components in a sophisticated, sustainable process. These are treated, cleaned and then shredded so they can be molded like the original plastic they once were. In this way, Luminox reuses this material, reducing the impact on the planet and helping to clean up the ocean, while at the same time helping local people learn a new skill and generate a steady income.

Today everyone has to do their part to make the world a better and more sustainable place. For Luminox, this means overhauling production processes and partnering with a Swiss company that collects plastic and marine litter and uses those materials to create the #tide watch line.
